Scratchbuilding an Erie Lackawanna Transfer Caboose

I want to scratchbuild an Erie-ErieLackawanna transfer caboose. I know I ran across an article on this subject circa 2003 (maybe earlier), but I can’t remember if it was in MR or RMC magazine, nor can I remember what issue. I keep all my old issues of model RR mags, so if someone can remember what issue that was I would greatly appreciate it. It would certainly be a step better than going off old photos of the prototype.

I found an article on scatchbuilding an EL transfer caboose not in MR but in the NMRA BULLETIN, October 1976, page 60. In the references listed in the Magazines Index found under “Resources” at the top of the first page of this forum there are several entries for scratchbuilding transfer cabooses but none say which railroad they represent. Since you have the MR issues you could check these out and see if any is the one you need.

Yes, Joe, I was talking to a friend and fellow model railroader and he found the article you are referring to. As I am an NMRA member, I will submit a request for the article. There are many photos of these cars on the Fallen Flags website as well, so if it isn’t the exact road name I can at least come close to getting it prototypically correct. Thank you for your effort as well.
