I’m scratchbuilding an On3 50-tonner. Does any one know how I should build the drive line? Sources for parts would help too.

Don’t overlook simple things like steel rods & plastic tubing from Ace hardware. I redid an Athearn drive once and used a heavy coat hanger as the drive shaft.

Ray would be a wonderful help with this. I’m not sure he’s on the new forum, though. Here’s one of his projects, so that you know who I am talking about, and the level at which he models. He’s simply outstanding. I can think of no better person to help you.

Would the Ernst gearing for HO hustlers work with the A-line motors, or are the couplings different?
