I want to attach Fastrack to the base plywood but with a layer of foam board under the track for noise reduction. It seems as though the perfect size wood screw for the track holes is a #4, but I am not able to find long enough ones (say 1 1/4" or so) in that size. #6 screws seem to stick up too high. What does everybody use for this? This is just a temporary layout.

Honestly, I don’t even bother screwing Fastrack down. The track fits so tightly together, I’ve found it never moves once it’s in place. The fit is so snug that I have a tough time pulling out a piece of track (like to replace a turnout or something) once everything is down. The only way I’ve been able to pull out a section is to lift a couple of feet of track either side of the intended break just to get enough wiggle room to remove the section.
