SD-45 & Baldwin Shark?

Just wondering how prototypical it would be to run an SD-45 powered unit with an unpowered Baldwin Shark B unit? I bought the unpowered Baldwin Shark B unit for $20.00 at a train show and installed Williams True Blast 2 diesel horn kit in it, going to attach a wire to the SD-45 for center rail power.

Probably not, but this is the world of toy trains - railroad the way you want to railroad. I’ve repainted two Amtrak genesis engines into NYC, as well as Dash 8s and an SD40… Go for it.

Not prototypical at all, I should think. Sharks used a unique pneumatic MU system that wasn’t compatible with anything else.

But these are toy trains. Run whatever looks good to you, and enjoy.

Like the others have said - YOU own the railroad. Run it any way you want.

Thanks for the input! I am using the Baldwin Shark B unit because it was a bargain to purchase ans easy to add some wires to and a horn unit. Used a couple of 1/32 scale model race car disconnects for the power couplings and have three differant SD-45’s that can hook-up to the B unit, front or rear.
