Model Railroader Prototype information for the modeler

I plan to use an Atlas AT&SF SD24 in zebra stripe design (engine is on order) as a base for an PHL SD18m (#40, 41 …). That engines have been SD24 (CNW 6628, 6638 - SOU 2509, 2518) but have been modified by removing the turbo charger at least.
I have got two questions:

  1. What else has been modified to become an SD18m that should be modeled due to it’s visual importance?
  2. Do you have photos of the roof of similar engine useful to build the new none turbo stack?

I got it. This is a fine photo of the roof of a similar CNW unit
