Oh, the beauty of both the NP paint scheme, and a refurbished SD-45. Two of my most favorite things in railroading! My N-scale layout carries a lot of NP varnish. May Stampede pass live on forever.

Thanks to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum for doing this. Even though I am from the south and never saw the Northern Pacific in action, I still admired their black and yellow paint scheme. Lionel applied it to their GP-7 model during the post war era. Thanks again.

Hope the GN SD45 and this one can pull trips together.

VERY NICE!!!

Sharp-looking unit, but foreshortening in the photo–due to a telephoto lens?–makes it look more like a GP-40.

Huh ? I can see the six-wheel trucks with no problem !

Yes, I know all about six-wheel trucks–I was referring to its overall proportions!

They say that size doesn’t always matter . Kinda looks like a beautiful HO model scene, doesn’t it ?

What a beautiful engine. Brings back memories of living next to the NP in North Dakota and watching these things in action almost every day.

It’s a beautiful addition to a beautiful collection. I visited the LSRM last summer and was, as on previous visits to Duluth, delighted.
