Well it’s a long time I am coming here, but don’nt have a lot of time because of my buiseness…
Well some years ago I bought motors for turnout, I bought them by american switchmaster but don’t find them anymore.
In fact these motors are made by “”“” handcraft motor display"“”" ( I am not sure about the orthograph sorry) and I will bought several others. I think Mister Sellios of FSM use them on his layout.
They are constant current running like the tortoise but less expensive if bought by quantities.
So did someone have the web address of the maker of these motors.
The motor is made by a company in Wisconsin, and they will see you the bare display motor in quantity. They are available in the ‘Switchmaster’ name from these folks:
Rix Products did sell a very nice mounting bracket that holds the motor and a pair of micro-switches, but I do not see them listed anymore. Walthers also list a Torquemaster swich machine that looks a lot like the same thing. I used them on a friends layout(with the Rix bracket) and they are very reliable. However, they became unavailable for a while(though you cound purchase the Hankscraft display motor in bulk) and now the mounting bracket kits appear to be unavailable. My current layout uses Tortoise motors as they are available, and really do not cost any more when you add up the cost of the motor/bracket/switches, and then you have to assemble/wire them.
