Ive finally started getting Seaview standing again. We moved back in November so everything was packed up. Luckily moving the layout was easy since its modular. Ive finally gotten some modules standing again. Ive started getting the buildings back in place and finally gluing them down to start getting things closer to show ready. I’ve also been adding details to some areas to finish them up. It great to see things standing again and have the room to set up more of the layout than our last apartment.
Ive also started building the lift bridge that goes on the module after the interchange yard. It is from Custom Model Railroads. It will be operational and I am planning on some other fun animation ideas to add with it.
The new module is one of the temporary turn around loop modules built for me by a friend. I need to make some new legs to bring it up to track height. The other is my Valley Central interchange yard module. There is a lot to do here. The biggest issue right now is I’m missing 3 buildings and a scratch built wood pier. I spent a long time searching through boxes today but i e had no luck finding them so far. Hopefully they show up and i dont have to replace them. We shall see.
More is happening. The northern return loop track plan has been worked out. Im now getting cork laid down and getting the track laid down. The module wont be getting any scenery as this is only a temporary plan for the displays ill do this year. The sidings will allow me to display extra equipment or add some switching fun when i want to do some operations.
Once i get this finished ill be taking down this end ofvthe layout and working on the southern end loop and the Meskewauke inlet module with the Rolling lift bridge. Ive got until the end of june to get everything operational when ill go for my first display at the Nursing home where I work.
