I wonder what the loud ‘pop’ was…traction motor flashover, maybe? Hopefully they are able to get both cars running again! Glad nobody was hurt.
This hasn’t happened with other Melbourne cars in the US…or other heritage equipment of whatever kind, such as the Milan Peter Witts on SF MUNI’s F-Line… Something is definitely not right on the Memphis equipment. Sounds like some very sharp shop tests and inquiries with whatever party set them up is in order.
