Sector Table

I’ve been out of the hobby for years, but at my wife’s urging, I’m back. I’ve decided to build a small layout from an MR track plan, and it seems just about ideal for the limited space I have available. The plan calls for a 'Sector Table—actually, two of them. I’m resigned to the fact that I’ll have to scratch-build them, but I’m just wondering if anyone has any practical experience with them, and if there’s an easy way to do it.

Thanks for your help.

Make the pivot out of a headphone jack, socket in the well(base) and the plug under the sector table.

Wire from plug to track on sector plate and track on edge of pit to socket .

The table will now lift out for servicing, cleaning etc.

I will watch the thread to see how you go.

Sector tables, traversers and sector plates are quite common in the UK model railroading community. I can only recommend to post your question to a UK based forum, such as RMWeb

A basic idea how to build a sector plate can bee viewed here

Tom,

There must be a typo in your message. As posted, it reads, “I’ve been out of the hobby for years, but at my wife’s urging, I’m back”.

At your wife’s urging?

In my house, my wife is always urging me in the other direction, and not so subtly. LOL
