Secure mounting of Power Packs

Hello Everyone,

I have a minor problem. I am planning the control panel layout for my new layout. Have ran into a small problem. The two Model Power power packs I want to use for my cabs, do not have mounting holes molded into the case, like others I have. My question is how do I mount these to my control panel. Obviously some kind of adhiesive is neccicary, but what kind of adhiesive will bive me a secure hold, yet when these power packs burn up will allow me to peel it off and replace them. Has any else done this before and what was their solution.

James.

For this kind of issue double faced foam tape will work. How much depends on the application. I use the stuff that is about 1" wide and comes in a roll. They also make a version for museums, but I have had trouble finding it and the regular stuff works. I use it in the motorhome, and if you use enough it is a stable as duct tape and does not show. For your application I would start with four pieces 1" long placed near the corners.

Double sided tape or velcro should work fine.

Thanks for your inputs. I had been considering clear silicone adheasive as a possiblity.

NO!.

Two Velcro M F strips each . - top and bottom, cut to size, should hold it AND allow removal for servicing.

I use hot melt glue. It is secure, and can be removed with a heat gun when replacement is neeeded.

Hmm There is a thought. I will look into it.
