Here are some general pics of my layout. MOre to come later:
Thanks!
Very nice. Looking forward to seeing the next phase of your layout scenicked (I won’t say finished as layouts are rarely ever finished [;)] ) .
I especially like the busy industrial scene (2nd photo) with the truck, forklift and loads (I downloaded that picture). Also the Jack’s Welding Supply business. Your overall track plan gives the impression of a railroad that’s busy.
Though you’re modeling Cleveland, some of the scenes remind me of my New York City neighborhood, circa 1960s. [8D][:D][tup]
Fantastic. Be sure to keep the photos updated so we can follow your progress.
I’m putting in a decent sized town and really wish I had your talent. Looks good.
very nice pictures. keep us updated, please.
I like the intricate trackwork behind the roundhouse. That’s a nice looking layout! Like everyone else said, keep us posted! [tup]
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll definitely keep adding to the blog. Train season is just starting to pick up again.
About 2/3 of the layout will be all city and industry – part of it is Cleveland inspired and part of it is Chicago inspired. When viewed as a whole, it will just look like one big city. There’s a ton of Art Curren inspiration on the layout. The area behind the round house is heavily inspired by an article he did called “A corner full of industry”. The track layout is different, but some of the buildings are based on that article. The Chicago section is also based on a Curren plan for using buildings with different sides as a scenic divider down the penisula. I don’t recall the name of the article, but it’s been the “bible” for that part of the layout.
Looks nice, seeing pictures like this always makes me jealous I don’t have more room.
