Senator: FRA pledges $2.7 million for Midwest rail planning

Ohio has spent millions of dollars on passenger train studies over the last 30 years. And where has it gotten us - nowhere. The consultants made their money, They “kicked back” plenty to the politician’s campaign coffers, but the taxpayers haven’t seen anything happen. The latest project - the 3-C Corridor (Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati) study was shot down again a few years ago, on the basis that it would cost Ohio taxpayers $17 million/year for subsidies (above fare-box recovery $$$) to operate 3 round-trip trains per day. A $2-3 increase in the license plate fees would have more than covered these annual costs.

Oh boy now we’re really getting serious…yet more money for more studies that will go nowhere. Been there, done that, and the t-shirt was ugly

Since when was a plan infrastructure?
