Weather warnings said clearly that the Kearny Yards would get flooded. Despite those warnings and plenty of time, NJT made the decision to leave 100 + cars and 60 + locomotives that were there in place when they had plenty of time to move them to higher ground, including the new bi-powered imported loco’s and many new multi-levels coaches that ended up in 5 feet of salt water as predicted. I think NJT should be made to pay for this oversight themselves, and not be put the repair costs on the backs of taxpayers.

The equipment could have been left in the Gladstone, NJ yards and it would have been safe from the flooding. Who is in charge of that railroad and what were they thinking?
