Sept 09 issue

Just got the Sept 09 issue today. Although I have a larger layout, I enjoyed the first installment of another small layout. The featured retro railroad offers interesting running and switching operations. I also liked the evolutionary trail of its development. At the other end of things, the larger point-to-point layout provided a good counterbalance. Thanks for another good issue.

This is just a really really good issue. Good reading, nice layout articles, a nice variety of reviews, informative stuff from The Underground, and a great article on 1959 sets!

Nice job on this one guys!

Great issue!!!

I received my issue today. This is a very good issue. I liked the review on pages 80/81, about the Lionel GG1. That is a great deal at that price. I think they will be very competitive with Williams.

What an unexpected treat - September in July - just in time to read on my trip.

Only skimmed it, and it looks like an excellent issue. I’ll probably enjoy it. [8D]

just got home and what was sitting on my desk[:D]my september issue of CTT was I surprised. Will look at it in a few

I don’t usually get involved in the “issue” thing, but I have to agree that it was an exceptionally good one. I like that postwar is coming back into the magazine, along with modern. Nice mix. Pictures or a diagram would have really helped in the e-unit mod. part of the mag., though. I like the direction CTT has been heading in the last few issues.

Received the new September '09 issue today. Only read through the Editor’s Desk, Views From The Underground, & “Make your layout look larger.” I enjoyed these stories & editorials, each had great details and interesting developments in the industry. I’m looking forward to finishing the rest of the stories. The new Project Layout looks really nice, and I can’t wait to read the review of the Orient Express locomotive. Good work CTT Staff. Keep up the good work!

Good morning all,

I received my copy yesterday as well. It looks very interesting. I like the project railroad ideas they have and are presenting. While I enjoy the postwar “year” articles, I am afraid they have about mined all the good years unless they either start doing pre-war segments or go to the modern era. At the very least, there are still lots of layouts to be shown and a lot of new product still to be reviewed.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Received mine on Thursday; read a lot of it today. Nice issue with the usual good ideas scattered through. I have to admit after reading the review of the GG1, I’m glad I purchased the Williams unit a couple of years back when they has their intro. via the Paltinum Club, that doesn’t really exist anymore…

Was wondering if Mr Durling is one of our own…[%-)]
