    Details:  SEPTA will commemorate 100 years of subway-elevated train
              service in Philadelphia on Sunday, March 4, 2007 with a day of
              special events.

              Market Street Subway-Elevated service originally began
              operations from 69th Street Terminal to 15th Street Station on
              March 4, 1907.  To mark the occasion, SEPTA will provide free
              service on the Market-Frankford Line for all riders between noon
              and 5 p.m. on March 4.

Interesting that the only part of the original CONSTRUCTION that remains is the subway section from the Skuykill River Tunnels through the 15th Street Station. Everything west of the river has been repleced, in part with subway replacing elevated and in part new elevated structure.

I wonder if they have any of the old “Almond Joys” to drag out and run on the line that day ?
