Server outage this Saturday

Hi, all, Just a quick note to let everyone know our Information Systems folks are doing some server upgrades this Saturday, July 25, and there might be some delays or interruptions. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause. Thanks for understanding! Kathi

Thanks for the heads up. How do you like working at IRM?

Ha, ha! I was wondering how long ‘til that might show up here. I love it! Tons to learn still, but I’ve got the best teachers. I live too far away to get there nearly as often as I’d like, but don’t be too surprised if you see me there covered in grease or pulling a switch. We just rolled CB&Q SD24 No. 504 out of the diesel shop last weekend after six or seven years’ restoration. It’s in the Chinese red scheme and looks awesome! Check it out! http://www.irm.org/gallery/cbq504restoration-2009 Kathi

It did look great-I was there Sunday at Diesel Days. Were you there?

I’d be willing to bet that anybody there with a camera last weekend has a picture of that beautiful engine. If they don’t, they’re insane. Here’s mine…

And if I’d have known that you were there somewhere, I would’ve tracked you down and said hi…

Sorry for hijacking the thread!

Very nice - thanks for sharing. [tup] That’s a paint scheme which truly deserves to be preserved / re-created - esp. on a high-short nose unit, as it was ‘back in the day’, and one with the air reservoirs on the roof, too. Now if we could just get a sky [or some other background] that didn’t match the upper hood quite so well, it’d really stand out . . . [;)]

…You have created a very nice photo Brian.

I used to be a member of the Burlington Route Historical Society, and maybe someday I will go back to the BRHS as a member. Anyway guys, #504 is a very sharp looking unit and I wish it were possible for me to have gotten pictures of it myself.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but was this unit at one time exactly half of the Wisconsin Central’s roster of SD24s? Great job restoring it to OE condition…

That locomotive looks Trains magazine red to me…

Uh, sorry for derailing the subject–Internet Explorer seizes up every time I try to write a post. This just started; Firefox works. And no, it wasn’t because I posted some corny lyrics…
