It seems things have settled in a little bit from some of the intial flaming entries. Both sites have something to offer and in a democracy you are not forced to make choices. So let’s all relax and enjoy out trains.[:)]

I’ve belonged to forums on other interest, i.e. shortwave dxing, scanners, and telescopes (of all things to flame about) and left most of them because of the name calling and flame wars that erupted over even the most basic newbie questions.
Imagine my concern; I’d belonged to this nice laid back informative forum for a few months … received a lot of great help … tried to help where I could … took my son on a vacation for a week and on my return … we had been invaded – Flame On (Fantastic Four as I recall)! Broadsides fired from both sides … wounded and missing on both sides … the smell of fear and cordite in the air…
Went to work the next day and told my train buddy, “Guess I’m going to be quiting another forum!”
I was wrong. Thanks everyone for letting me have my nice, bigger, much more active, but laid back forum – back.

It’s a good forum indeed. Laid back enough that there’s time to respond when questions pop up, or opinions are sought, and the board’s not so busy that responses get lost behind more recent posts. Hope it stays that way.
