Seventies Paint Scheme

TRAINS Magazine’s “That 70s issue!” is about to hit the newsstands. [:p]
It’s a colorful one! What’s your favorite seventies paint scheme? What’s the worst?[xx(]

My favorite 70s paint scheme is BN Cascade Green.[8D]

[#ditto][#ditto]The Chessie scheme has got to be the best of
ALL TIME!! I mean, after all, WHO doesn’t love a kitty cat?!?!

SCL had a Spirit of 76 paint job in Red, White and Blue if memory serves me and Southern had a return to its roots on the Cresent Limited with the Southern Green and Gold.
.

the early Amtrak paint schemes were colorful with the wide red white and blue bands around the locomotives. Also, the Teal/Aqua Penn Central paint was different.

Besides ‘my’ all time favorite (C & O Enchantment Blue & yellow)
“CHESSIE” has GOT to be the best!!! (Here;Kitty,Kitty!!)

BN’s green and black is the best!!!

here kitty kitty, also the southern has and still has a good paint scheme

The Rock Island Blues[bow]

Chessie…hands down…bright and distinctive with the Ches-C being truly unique.

Chessie followed by the rock blue.are favorites.and i dont know if this counts as a paint scheme but,Railbox boxcars.I think railbox started in the 70’s right?

always loved the Railbox boxcars-- original scheme

Not many will agree but the Rocks Bankrupcy Blue was a nice paint job when it was clean. The Katy’s John deere green paint job was a neat one. Long live the rock!

Another vote for Chessie. Still see it once in a while on steel coil cars.

I’ll cast my vote for NJ Transit, platinum mist body, black roof and multi-color diagonals on the flanks.
