Hello all,
I realize I hadn’t posted updates on here for my shelf layout for sometime. It’s in the final phases of being done so I’m slowly adding things, it mainly needs figures, some more scenery, and some other details, but it’s coming along.
The background is by Larc Products, the firm’ “Mack” backdrop, the lighting by MicroMark. The railroads are Boston & Maine and New York Central, the era is early '50s, but I may make changes to incorporate later eras as I enjoy that aesthetic quite a bit as well, but for now, here’s my little slice of Upstate New York.
Here is what I had going a year ago and I had been ecstatic just to get this far.
Here’s where I am at now. I chose smaller buildings over the large ones I originally planned to use as I think it makes the layout appear larger and the scene much less compressed.
Here are some shots of individual scenes.
The South River Model Works Wrisley Papers building, my first craftsman kit and I loved every minute of it. Probably the most “complete” area of the layout. The stone work holding up the trestle I built using Chooch Enterprise cut stone sheets and then painted and weathered. Scenery is mainly Woodland Scenics products. I originally thought adding the little Pigeons would be a lot of time for little effect but I had been wrong! I like the Pigeons a lot and glad I added them.
