FTA"…The shooting erupted around 4 p.m., as the northbound Eagle was preparing to depart Dallas for Chicago. Three plainclothes officers were performing an inspection of the train when they found a “suspicious man” aboard. The officers confronted the man, who opened fire. He was killed in the ensuing firefight. The injuries to senior corporal Samuel Hussey and an unidentified bystander were not life-threatening…"

[2c] Neither article mentions any TSA Officers were present at the time of the shooting, and only later were any AMTRAK officials mention as part of the investigation.
It seems kind of extreme that Local Law Enforcement would [APPARENTLY, MAKE ROUTINE Inspections of AMTRAK equipment while stopped in a local station without either TSA or AMTRAK officers present(?).
Their suspicions were definitely realized in this case, and vindicated by the actions of the ‘suspicious’ individual and his actions. It just seems like it was the wrong way to handle something like this type of situation
