short line or branch line stub terminal ?

I have a question. wich would be better for a begining, low income, not very artistic, 12 year old ? a stub terminal of a fictional branch of the Rock Isalnd in western Oklahoma, or a fictional short line in western OK. I would be model ing on a 2x14 shelf. I have no desire to be paintig and lettering all my locos so I would need an excuse to run Rock Island locomotives. I will be setting my layout in 1955. I also want to have good operational intrest. could somone give me any info ?

If you have no desire to repaint or reletter…havent you answered your own question?

Sounds like a Rock Island stub is your answer…
