Bob

Wow, that’s a MUCH different whistle than on my New York Central version! ERR Cruise works just as well though!

Nice!

Now I’m really ticked that Lionel never made one of these in B&O… for some reason all they saw fit to make was the TS version. So it is either upgrade my TS to TMCC or wait and HOPE they come out with one in Legacy… [banghead]

Jon, Yea that whistle is different. Sounds almost like the horn on a GP-7. I wonder if the real thing sounded like that. I’ve heard an ex GTW mikado and it didn’t sound like this. I guess different railroads had thier own whistles.

Hmm,

Can anyone provide a video or audio clip of the NYC Mike. I want to but either the Pennsy or the NYC, but I don’t too much care for the whistle on the Pennsy. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Cheese

Cheese,

If you want, you can e-mail me your phone number, and I can play the whistle over the phone.

Thanks for sharing! I would have loved to hear the Tower Com to that MOW car. [:O] “Get out of the way!”

I can see why Lionel bought ERR. Jon Z has some skills.

Regards,

John

Was wondering how hard was it to install. What exactly do you have to do? Is your video running in Tmcc or conventional?

zw - did your Mike have TMCC already or did you do a complete ERR upgrade? Reason I ask is mine is conventional with Trainsounds and I want to get it upgraded to TMCC with cruise.

I wish they would paint one of the Mikados with Southern colors, like engine #4501. But if they did make that engine, it would probably cost a thousand dollers!!![banghead]

This was a very easy upgrade. The engine came with TMCC w/railsounds 5.0. All you have to do is take out the driver board and put in the ERR board. 4 screws and 2 plugs. I think it took longer putting the body back on fiddling with the headlight then switching the boards. The video is TMCC.

Amen to that, Bob!
