I don’t see this as a good appointment in spite of the lavish praise given (that may be a tip off). Ms. Darr left DOT 14 years ago. She was involved in financial management of the department, of which FRA was but one component (not a very high profile one at the time, if my memory serves me). At least General (Retired) Timmons worked for a railroad (NS).
I have to concur with Mr. Blackwood. Where is her railroading background? I guess its possible that the ASLRRA is only looking for a lobbyist and figurehead.
The whole thing smacks of twenty-first century glass ceiling affirmative action. PC is PC.
