“Frank Celli, chief executive of Interstate Waste Services Inc., smells something rotten – metaphorically – in New Jersey. And it’s not related to the odor being controlled at his waste-handling facility in Garfield. He’s distressed about a small railroad a mile away that, along with others, is taking some of his business because it doesn’t have to follow the same rules he does.”
The mafia garbage men are mad because the trains are hauling a type of waste that they themselfs dont even haul [%-)]
lol sounds like they just want a piece of the pie but dont have the connections to startup there own shortline, as far as smelling somthing rotton its probly his own yard lol almost all of those pictures they have are from Interstate Waste not the rail yards, the few shots they have of the rail yards are very clean looking no 100’ stacks of garbage
lol Construction & Demolition waste smells like building materials IMHO , not trash/yard waste like Interstate waste has pictured, I have been to those types of garbage centers and OMG do they stink!
Um, Mr. Ash…think you better not be eating your Post Toasties before you look hard at 'em and what’s in the bowl with them:
There are legitimate shortline waste haulers (Bay Colony RR comes to mind) and there are scam artists out there…The STB, AAR and ASLRRA are all dealing with this as some sleazeballs have manipulated the Federal regulations to avoid local regulation (and will never be legitimate railroader operators). This is similar to the type of nonsense that was discussed in the Northern Mississippi thread. STB is investigating new rulemaking because of this in Ex Parte 673 (EP-673) … http://www.stb.dot.gov/__85256593004F576F.nsf/0/4F64F384EB9DAA388525736A00692439?OpenDocument
