should KCS get a new paint scheme

[8D] i seen KCS go from white to grey but still the red letters
i was thinking about red with white letters or white with blue letters
either would be cool or some green somewhere whats your idea[8D]

I like the white w/ red lettering. I thought they looked good.

I think they should go back to the yellow, red, and black passenger scheme used on thier Panama Railway[8D].

I like it the way it is. It’s simple, but attractive enough. How much money do you think they save on paint keeping it simple like it is?

I hate it when I have something that I want to respond to in a post, and then read the remainder of the posts under the thread and find someone has beat me to the punch.

I am rather fond of that particular scheme myself. Although, I agree that their current one is both simple and attractive.

Gabe

Seems like they’re usually pretty clean, too.

I sorta like the off white/grey. reminds me of primer. But if they ever change it, please, no yellow with the old red letters[xx(] you all know what I’m hinting at[;)]

hey, don’t they use old amtrak F40PH’s?

Yes. But they are F40PH-BF’s.

The BF stands for big feet.

I agree with both Chad and espeefoamer but they should probably stay with the current scheme to maintain some uniformity.

I don’t see much point unless the marketing department says it would be worth the investment. Certain paint schemes I guess are expensive hence CSX painting their new locomotives in dark blue and yellow only now rather then the blue, grey and yellow.

Makes me wonder how much UP spends on theirs. They have quite the number of different colours on their locomotives. Yellow; black lettering; red, white and blue U.S flag; red lettering, UP logo.

Simple schemes and easy logos like CN, KCS and CSX aren’t as expensive as say CP, UP, and VIA (P-42s).

Sorry, guys … but MY “crystal ball” says black with white letters, and no K in the name … and the gods dancing joyously in Texas.

That happens to me all the time! It really, um,"ticks"me off.

Yes! The old red and white GM&O scheme. They probably own the rights to it, having bought MidSouth Rail

I would love to see the KCS in the current Southern Belle colors. I loved it when the Belle was in the yard. She was so pretty.

I agree with Chad…especially when they get a little grungy out on the road!

there using ex METRA locos but only as B or trailing locos
not for lead according to trains mag[8D]

[8D] if your refering to NS they bring the hot shots in from the east coast to merridian miss where KCS takes over and takes them to Ft Worth tx where BNSF takes them to the west coast

I like Chad, enjoy the white with red lettering.
