Show me something.......April 2013

I believe the last request was …show me something on your layout you want to redo.

Does the club layout count? There are about 30 like this that I have wanted to rebuild for years.

Show me something FOOLISH! Something whimsically foolish that is.

Teasing the cat…

Show me something under construction.

Here is the Clark Avenue Yard section of my layout before the track was laid:

Show me another construction shot

This is the west side of the new layout, It will be quite a while before I get back to working on this area.

show more construction area’s

Sam

Here is a construction AREA, but not much actual construction shows. (And it’s been a while since I’ve taken this shot, without much progress here.) There IS some hidden staging track laid back behind the export grain elevator mockup, and the false-front mockup of shipside cargo sheds. The offshore oil rig under construction is safety award trophy from a garage sale, not yet rehabilitated for use as a background model.

Cars sitting on blue foam show where future industry spurs are to be laid, after hidden layover and test loop trackage is laid and trouble-shot.

Today is the second of the month. Show me your second something- your second loco or second car or second structure, etc.

The second structure I built on my layout was the turntable. Here it is right after I finished building, weathering, wiring & installing it:

Here it is as it looks now:

Now, show me your favorite structure on your layout.

Carl

I kinda like this Grain Elevator. Not quite finished but close.

Show me a picture of something on your rails that you also have a picture of the real one to go with it. Must have the same #s or name visible.

CB&Q 100 (EMD publicity poster)

The Stewart model I painted (lower level train) …

Here is half of the set.

Please show a prototypically correct model (with optional prototype picture if you have one).

the real SD50

And pics of the model

Show me a structure/ kit or scratchbuilt and your real pics or reference shots

(oops re-read, I think you wanted a structure). So if this doesn’t fit, go back to a structure/kit or scratchbuilt and reference photos.

Mostly scratchbuilt.

G scale Silver Vista, selectively compressed to match the dimensions of an LGB D&RGW coach. Kind of a pain to do as I made the roof removable.

First the model:

And then a rare color reference shot I used:

Show me a passenger train

Show me another passenger train.\

Tom

The UP 844 at Cheyenne Depot Station, just arriving from Denver for Cheyenne Frontier Days.

Lets see some more passenger trains.

NYC Mercury west bound on the BRVRR:

Another passenger train please.

Passenger Trains!

Does anybody have a street car?

No streetcar… but I do have a model and prototype.

Show me something that needs painting.

Southwest Chief

That model vista car is fantastic. I would be afraid to start a project like that. Ican see myself getting frustrated and crush it. [banghead]

Here is a photo of the inside of the prototype.

Have fun.

Like this?

Show me a structure that handles coal (Mine, tipple, dealer, etc)

Coal Mine near the D&RGW Moffat Line.
