Show Me Something -- April 2016

The attempt to get to page 4 last month didn’t happen so lets get page 1 for April started.

Howmus asked for something special. Here’s another special part of my layout.

Please show me something special on your layout

April fool
Bob

I think this fits the bill for something special. It’s Warren’s Country Store. It’s named for a subsitute teacher at my high school and a very good friend. He was an avid model railroader and had a fine Marklin layout in his basement. Sadly Warren passed away in 2014 and I decided to put a little memorial to him on my layout.

Being a steam fan, he would’ve appreciated the K4.

Since it’s the 40th anivsersory of Conrail, show me some Conrail.

Conrail inherited a real “dog’s breakfast” of equipment on April 1, 1976!

Here’s a freshly painted Alco C636 trailed by an E-L SDP45 and an ex-Pennsy, Penn central GP-9!

Show me anything from a Conrail predecessor…

It was close, maybe we can do it this month?? [sigh]

From the BRVRR website. PRR F7 #9822 at the head of a mixed consist. Pennsy was a predecessor.

More Conrail predecessors please.

2 PRR boxcars

Show me more Conrail predecessors that are not PRR

Im really sorry to interuppt.

I understand the Show me Something rules, except one of them.

Does the pictures of “something” have to be shown on a finished layout?

Thanks

If so, I offended the rules many times.

My layout is far from being “finished”. Although I always try to find a place on the layout that is “partly sceniched” to take photos, I wouldn’t be offended to see a PRR Boxcar on a piece of track over plywood if the demand was “Show me a rolling stock from a predecessor of Conrail”.

As to the request of Conrail predacessors, here’s two LV and CNJ

Let’s see some more Conrail predacessors. I believe that leaves EL, PC and Reading.

From Wikipedia… just to strive for accuracy [:)]

Just to keep things moving, a NYC boxcar

Show any remaining Conrail predecessors??

Here’s a shot of a short Reading freight.

More Conrail predecessors?

Here’s a “Patched” CR GG1 of obvious heritage!

Let’s head west… Show me a railroad that ran on (or near) the Pacific Coast.

Here’s a UP Big Boy that ran ‘near’ the West Coast?

Show more UP steam!

UP Steam:

How about some Canadian power - steam or diesel.

Well, almost 24 hours without a new post. Here’s some action at the Route 53 overpass.

Show me another highway overpass.

Highway overpass on the right with traffic waiting for the Century to clear the crossing…

Show me another roadway over or under the tracks.

Okey Dokey…

Show me more tracks over or under…
