The Show me Rules!!
In this thread a person asks to see something, related to model railroading of course, and the first person to respond by posting a picture that contains what the person asks for then immediately says “Show Me Something”…
That person can ask to see, for example, a certain color… or a shape such as something round or square. They could ask to see something patriotic, or something angry or happy or sad. They may ask to see something educational or inspiring or scary. The request should be one word, such as “Show Me Something Humorous”
Participants in the thread should give others a chance to join in. For instance, let several requests/replies go by before jumping back in after you’ve participated UNLESS the thread drops off the first or second page and you’d like to bring it back. In that case it would be fine to answer again.
Please…, NO LINKS to a picture on another website somewhere. The answer MUST be posted in your reply. If a participant does that it should be ignored and another person can reply.
There may be times when two or more people reply at the same time. Any reply should be done to the FIRST person.
How about a Kitbash? This was a Rivarossi AC-10 Cab Forward 4-8-8-2.

Really? Well, that really does grind my gears.[:(!] If that’s the case, if the people here are going to be obnoxious inflexible tryhards to that extent, then I’m out of this thread and someone else will have to satisfy the previous request because I’m removing my photo.
Sorry you feel that way, I was just trying to move Showme along. It had been more than a day with no response. When Showme started a few years ago, there was a two hour time limit for responses, more recently it has been more like a day or if the thread falls off forum page one. In this case, both had happened.

This thread is for fun. It is more fun if many people are encouraged to post in it. Therefore, requests should be for common items instead of hard-to-find items.
If a request has no replies, we then move on to others.

In a previous post G Paine righteously changed the topic gunkhead had requested because there had been no response in over a day. To do so has been a common practice on this thread and also when it lands up on the second page.
With that said I have a problem with the reverse happening. All too often a request is changed too soon, even while responses are occurring. IMO there should be a decent amount of time given before a request is changed and the subject should be continued utill it’s ovbiously going nowhere.

I completely agree with you. It appears to me that the new rule should be the unwritten rule that when it has been more than 24 hours or when the post falls on page two, it is time to move along and anyone is now entitled to post a new request.
