One of the first pics I took with my Samsung GS7 to test the night picture quality…
My Bachmann 2-8-0 with an SMD headlight passing a Santa Fe passenger train:
This photo was taken just after my grandson turned out the lights in the layout room. Impromptu, but I like the effect.
New York Central Hudson #5335 at the head of a passenger train of mixed heavyweight and streamlined cars, rounds the curve at the west end of the Black River Valley layout.
I had to do a double-take when I saw the blue sign with the milk bottle in the lower photo. I live near Akron, Ohio and near by is Cuyahoga Falls, home of the Lawson Milk Co.
So I did a bit of research only to find that Lawson’s have continued to operate in Japan as Lawson Station! (Once owned by Mitsubishi?)
Thanks for the link to the Lawson Wikipedia page. I had no idea that the Lawson stores originally came from the States.
The Lawson Station kit is produced by Tomix, if I remember correctly; and, I would be happy to get one for you from my LHS, if you want to put one on your layout[:)]
Lawson’s was a significant regional dairy processor in NE Ohio, with a large plant right next to the B&O’s East-West mainline in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. I had no idea they still operated in Japan, of all places! Live & learn.
That is very generous, Dagne, as it is, I have shelves full of structures that I’ll never have room for on my layout [:(] Great seeing your photos, though!
