Another month in the bag, time to change the calendar. Looks like the thread has showed signs of momentum again this last month.
Here are the rules:
In this thread a person asks to see something, related to model railroading of course, and the first person to respond by posting a picture that contains what the person asks for then immediately says “Show Me Something”…
That person can ask to see, for example, a certain color… or a shape such as something round or square. They could ask to see something patriotic, or something angry or happy or sad. They may ask to see something educational or inspiring or scary. The request should be one word, such as “Show Me Something Humorous”
Participants in the thread should give others a chance to join in. For instance, let several requests/replies go by before jumping back in after you’ve participated UNLESS the thread drops off the first or second page and you’d like to bring it back. In that case it would be fine to answer again.
Please…, NO LINKS to a picture on another website somewhere. The answer MUST be posted in your reply. If a participant does that it should be ignored and another person can reply.
There may be times when two or more people reply at the same time. Any reply should be done to the FIRST person.
Due to the lack of momentum, we should be a little lighter on the 1-hour rule this time.
Here’s one of 3 on my layout. Yes, I know that the Rio Grande never had Yellowstones, however they borrowed about 8 or so from the Missabe during WWII, so on MY Rio Grande, they just went to Baldwin for copies of their own, LOL!
I built this from the Ambroid 1 of 5000 kit back in 1962, making it 50 years old. It’s still on the layout after nine moves. Interior lamp no longer works, and I wasn’t clever enough to provide a way to change it, short of deconstructing the entire caboose. I learned something from that experience. Otherwise it runs, stays on the track, stays coupled, and what more can you ask of a caboose.
How about 2 Mobil 3 dome tanks? These are old Athearn BB models. I got them from the “used” table at a train show; they were in the original box and not assembled. The original price on the boxes is $2.85 so they probably date from the late 1950s or early 1960s
Funny you should mention Mobilgas. I got a couple of 'em too.
This one is an Athearn undecorated kit that I painted and decaled. I might have scarfed up the last set of those decals off the Internet. Then a shortly after finishing this one, I found this one at a train show.
It’s the same Athearn kit, only this one is factory painted. Note the horn hook couplers, that puts it back a few years.
