Show Me Something: October 2018

Welcome to the October , 2018

Show Me Something

Thread

This is a place where forum members can post their photos featuring a view of a “requested” scene or object.

If you show the scene requested you can then make a request of your own or choose to stay with the current request. If you do not make a request, than the last one is still in effect.

Your photos should be of models only, not a “real-life” scene. After 24 hours, if the requested scene has not been posted, anyone is welcome to make a submission of their own choice of subject and then make the next request. It’s all about having fun! Let’s see those photos!

My Diorama, almost finished, but still under construction.

Harrison, thank you for starting us out this month.

.

Here is my “teaser” shot of my current big project.

.

.

Show me another project, finished or not.

This shot includes 4 projects: a Central Valley bridge built in 2012, an IHC Pacific improved in 2018, a set of Athearn heavyweights redone to 2-tone UP livery and the diner, both done in between. On second thought, there are more projects, some barely visible, including signals, background buildings and backdrop, train station, FA/FBs converted to DCC,…

Show another current or past favorite project, please.

One of my favorite projects, a Rail Yard Models kit of the 60’ PC X79 Boxcar in service hauling cereal for Kelloggs, which helped finance the car and after the lease was up ended up in possession of the cars until they were scrapped in the 2010 period.

More current or old favorite projects!

Last year, I scratch built a G scale covered bridge for Boothbay Railway Village, shown here in place

and an almost finished picture with an HO scale boxcar to give an idea of the size

Show another project please

Working weathering this. Please show me your SP switching locomotives

Heavy Feather, I can’t see the photo. Since I see the others, I’m assuming it’s not me. Are you inserting it per the General Discussion “sticky” instructions for adding a photo, from a hosting site, etc?

I see it. Heavyweather you are supposed to say what you want to see.

In recent months the show me thread has included a rule which states the previous request is still in effect if the most recent contributor does not make a new request.

This rule should eliminate delays , and I suggest we unclude it again this month.

(We did not have that rule in September.)

The rule was always there, I simply copy>pasted from an earlier month. Maybe it got lost. Like if a 25 MPH speed sign gets knocked over and you cant read it, the speed limit on the street is still 25 MPH. Tell it to the judge.

If someone would care to, please write up the rules again so we can have them in effect. Do the rules need to be posted in a sticky? Maybe Steven can arrange that.

Alas, I don’t have any S.P. switchers, though.

Regards, Ed

The steel mill bought 2 forner SP switchers (and 1 former GN switcher ) … The SP markings are barely visable under the grime.

Please show any diesel switcher.

How about two?

More switchers please.

Ah-hem…

How about some loaded Gondola’s ?

Sure. how about some scrap…

…or some mixed scrap…
