Show Me Something - September 2012 edition

Well, here we are five days into September. Time to update the thread. This thread originally stated that this is for model railroading only, no real/prototype trains.

Here are the rules:

In this thread a person asks to see something, related to model railroading of course, and the first person to respond by posting a picture that contains what the person asks for then immediately says “Show Me Something”…

That person can ask to see, for example, a certain color… or a shape such as something round or square. They could ask to see something patriotic, or something angry or happy or sad. They may ask to see something educational or inspiring or scary. The request should be one word, such as “Show Me Something Humorous”

Participants in the thread should give others a chance to join in. For instance, let several requests/replies go by before jumping back in after you’ve participated UNLESS the thread drops off the first or second page and you’d like to bring it back. In that case it would be fine to answer again.

Please…, NO LINKS to a picture on another website somewhere. The answer MUST be posted in your reply. If a participant does that it should be ignored and another person can reply.

There may be times when two or more people reply at the same time. Any reply should be done to the FIRST person.

Due to the lack of momentum, we should be a little lighter on the 1-hour rule this time.

The last request was for “a model train pulled by four locomotives.”

Rob S.

Since we don’t have a train pulled by four locos, how 'bout a train pulled by one!

Show me something sticky!

Jarrell

Is a couple thousand gallons of corn syrup stickey enough for you??

Show me a scene where some logs are being loaded

These were logs at one point.

Show me tank cars being loaded or off loaded, as the case may be. Or the logs.

Jarrell

Painted with a brush as a gift for mother-in-law whose hobby was dressing dolls.

Another Hobby?
Hope one of these cover it…

Another Hobby is Machining, originally for Gunsmithing, & Dad’s custom Bikes & Car parts, it’s equally suited for precision MRR work. Find & make a friend who has a Milling machine!!!

Show me another crossover hobby project.

Photography being another hobby, I have given clinics on how to make reasonably good model railroad photos… This is one of my favorite photos of my layout:

And this is a photo of how I did it:

Show me something that most people would think of being part of the Model Railroad hobby but can be.

Time is up on ‘Show me something that most people would think of being part of the Model Railroad hobby but can be.’ Ray, I think you meant something that most people would think of as NOT being part of the hobby?

Anyway, Show me something that is lighted.

Jarrell

Lighted/Lit by six overhead LEDs.

Show me wild flowers.

Wild flowers by the outhouse!

Yikes, pretty gnarly wreck [:O]

Here’s some private varnish, Santa Fe business car Topeka. Well sort of, not exactly a private car with it still being owned by the railroad. So maybe just call it varnish [^o)]
