Show Me Something September 2015

Well, we can’t let this thread die now can we?

I’m concerned about the originator of this thread, jacon 12 otherwise known as Jarrell. His last post was several months ago and I’m afraid we have lost another excellent modler. I hope and pray not!

Pictured below is a vinegar car labeled National Fruit Products. It is also used for pickles. N F P sells apple products under the brand “White House”. Maybe you have seen them on store shelves

Please show us another specialty car.

Bob

Thanks for starting September. Bob. I was afraid I was going to have to start for 2 months in a row.

Snapped hurrying to another satisfied customer is this purpose built covered hopper for GERN Industries, specifically for the carriage of “Flux-O-Ment” , the additive that makes concrete not only 3% stronger but also 3% lighter.

Please show me another specialised freight car.
Cheers, the Bear.
PS. Further to Bobs comment I just hope Jarrell is well.

Is it a freight car? Is it a passenger car?

Here’s a former PRR X-31 box car converted to a P-30a troop sleeper. Many were later returned to freight service after the War.

I’ll have to update the photo with one that has the lettering applied [;)]

Show me a freight car that has been modified or converted in some way.

That’s an interesting conversion. A flat car converted to TOFC, (trailer on flat car.)

Show me another conversion, please.

If you fella’s don’t mind, here’s a more recent photo of the above p-30a and a friend:

OK, thanks for allowing me to post updated photos… now back to Grampy’s request.

Here’s a gondola converted into an open-air excursion car.

Show me some narrow guage.

When you asked for something narrow gauge, I bet you didn´t expect this:

It´s the HOm model of a Rhaetian Railway class Ge 4/4 II BoBo electric, made by Bemo of Germany. The Rhaetian Railway is a network of metre-gauge lines in Switzerland, operating such famous trains as the Glacier Express and the Bernina Express.

Show me some more narrow gauge.

Can’t pass this one up! A 2 foot gauge Sandy River & Rangely Lakes Forney and MEC standard gauge pass by each other on Boothbay Railway Village layout

Show me a passenger train

Part of the 1986 Coke limited edition paseenger train. I havent got it running yet but hope to get that done soon!

Show me something BNSF

What on earth is that?

Looks like a cheap model of a JNR Shinkansen bullet train, painted in a fantasy scheme mix of Santa Fe´s war bonnet livery with Coke decals added to it.

Call it a limited edition and sell for real $$$! [}:)]

It is probably a second cousin to this!!!

This thing just SOLD on Ebay for over $700.

P. T. Barnum was SO right! Ed

Not so fast ! Underneath the paint may very well be a very rare Pomona Valley CB&Q Silver Charger 9908. I would appreciate a link to the original listing!

Here you go, Charlie.

There was some discussion about the unit at the old Atlas Rescue Forum.

Happy Modeling, Ed

We now return you to our regular “Show Me Something” programming [:D]

The request from last Thursday was show me something BNSF

Bump

Lets expand it to BNSF or any prior railroad in th BNSF family.

Anybody???

Well, it’s a bit early for the Holiday but here’s a couple of guys trying to figure out how to get that tree up the steps into the tower as the Empire Builder(s) pass in the background…

Cut a little more off, Joe, we almost got it!

Show me a scene with people laboring, like Joe above, for Labor Day!

Laboring for Labor Day:

The guys at the Black River team track are trying to finish before dark.

Show me more working men.

How about working women?

Show me more workers. - gotta be politically correct [(-D]
