Show us your coal drag!

Well, we’ve shown pictures of maintenance equipment, how about showing off your coal trains? [:D]

The Cedar Branch & Western only has one coal mine, so the coal drags are only about 8 or 9 cars long. In the shot below, the coal train is halfway to the Mopac interchange as it passes through Miller’s Cove.

Check out my sig pic.

That works! How about some more grande man!

Here’s a few more…

GP30’s struggle upgrade with a load of Platte Canyon coal.

Southbound empty rumbles out of Denver’s Cherokee Station power plant.

Eastbound coal drag heads for the Joint Line.

F3 led coal train on the Mine #4 bypass.

Daybreak departure.

Can ya tell I like coal trains?[:D]

Here’s mine![:D]

Not too fancy, but effective.[:)]

I wish you’d waited another month or so before asking for this, my coal cars are still all packed away [sigh]. Gotta ballast my track first, and put my structures back on.

Hope this still works. I do apologize as the website has some content that may not be appropriate. I am in process of finding another free hoster that does not have this questionable material on thier site.

And now… Here is a BLI 2-8-2 Mikado coming off a 3.5% Compound curve with a pair of tank cars and 10 empty athearn coal hoppers. There is a bit of thunder from the storm we were in during this shoot.

Here’s a shot I took a while back. I then added a little smoke and heat distortion with a photo editing program. The caption says it all.
