Siemens receives contract for Portland light rail vehicles

TriMet will have 119 Siemens cars after delivery of this order.
Type 1 Bombardier 26 cars #101-126
Type 2 Siemens 52 " #201-252
Type 3 Siemens 27 " #301-327
Type 4 Siemens 22 " #401-422
Type 5 Siemens 18 " #501-518 on order
Total 145 cars

Actually, TriMet has 101 Siemens LRVs, not 40.

These include 52 200-series (201-252) SD600s, 27 300-series (301-327) SD660s, and 22 400-series (401-422) S70s.

TriMet acquired its first Siemens cars (46 200-series) for the Westside MAX extension that opened in 1997-1998. Six more 200-series cars arrived for the Airport MAX (Red Line) in 2001.

The 300-series cars were built as part of the Interstate MAX (Yellow Line) expansion in 2004, while the 400-series cars entered service with the opening of the MAX Green Line in 2009
