It looks German, probably ERA II or III. Maybe made by Fleischman?
Content removed due to a completely fucked up and incompetent Kalmbach customer service.
Svein thanks a lot, I don´t know this company.
Is there some signals like this to USA trains?
Thanks everybody for the answers.
Thanks and regards,
Alex
I have never seen a signal like that on any U.S. railroad, but that’s not to say you can’t use them. Since you’re not in the U.S., who’s going to know the difference?
Thanks Paul. It´s pefect!!!
Cacole, I will like to do an USA train layout and I´m very special with this things. If in USA don´t use it, I will no use it in my layout. But maybe in a European modular layout I will be use it.
Cacole, witch signals are in turnouts in USA? The ERA is arround 50’s.
Thanks again and excuse me my english poor level!!
Alex
In the 1950’s the two railroads that were near my house, the Illinois Central and Missouri Pacific, used manual turnout controls similar to the ones made by Caboose Industries, as shown here.
The lanterns on the ground throws were kerosene lamps. A railroad employee from the local roundhouse went along the line in a handcar or speeder in the evening and filled the lamps with kerosene and lit them. Another employee would go around in the morning and extinguish the flame.
Those signals - Weichenlaterne - are sold e.g. by Weinert. But in this video it’s the wrong lantern. For an Y-turnout the pic should show an arrow to the other side, not a square…
With my module Naumburg, built 25 years ago, I’ve used them from Arnold, N-scale. And then I’ve scratch buillt them from brass.
Wolfgang
Thanks to everybody.
Wedudler your module is very very nice.
Cacole thanks for your link. I know about this webpage (CabooseInd) and now I would like to search more about this signals.

Alex
