Silly little ques. re: Peco track cleaning gizmo.

I got one of these Peco rubberized with abrasive track cleaning eraser/bar thingys.

(on the other end of the scale I also have a CMX track cleaning tank car which I have yet to load up and drive around) Ok, so I used this bar and now it is all blackened etc., etc.

What next? Do I clean the bar off somehow? Doesn’t seem right to use it on the track next time with the grime still on it.

You can clean it with liquid dishwashing detergent and an old tooth brush. I have to do that all the time.

If you load the CMX Clean Machine with a good cleaner such as lacquer thinner and run it a couple of times around your layout you won’t need the Peco cleaning block any more except for some minor touchup every few months. The only place I ever need to use the Peco cleaning block is on turnouts.
