The Silver Meteor is sold out tomorrow to accommodate a charter of west palm beach school safety patrolers going to Washington. Extra Amfleet cars are being added but train will not make any regular stops except for crew and servicing. Train drops extra cars in WAS to cover return on SUN ( ? ). Get you pictures. Silver star has open space so guess regular passengers covered on that train but it may also have extra cars?

West Palm Beach Safety Patrol trips to Washington on Amtrak are a yearly occurence. Normally they run a Extra train for them.
y information is that it was a lack of Horizon cars from CHI and no need to schedule an extra train on CSX.
Amtrak has requested and obtained roundtrip Special Train schedules for this movement for last weekend and this weekend.
My understanding is that they have not run an “extra” train for the Safety Patrol in many years. Has this changed?
All I know is that CSX is operating P900 series runs between Miami & Washington with 1 stop for passengers at West Palm Beach…that defines a Passenger Extra on CSX. Goes North on Wednesday or Thursday and returns South on Sunday’s. Operated with Amtrak equipment and Amtrak Crews.
