Simple Q: 50' Airslide Covered Hopper on a modern railroad?

50’ Airslide(R) Covered Hopper: Do they still use these freight cars…are they still seen on the roads?

Yes i seen one the other day and the walk on top was gone.

Yes, they are still used.

Yes they are still being used by railroads. Many were built in the 1970s and 1980s.

Some have been repainted, but many are still in their original schemes.

For example the Chessie System and Seaboard System GATX AIRSLIDE 50’ Hoppers have CSXT Reporting Marks and Road Numbers now.

Andrew

Yes. Most of them were built in the 1970s and 80s and some in the 1990s so 50 foot airslides would be very much at home on a modern era layout.
