Simple Super Street questions

!. Do they tell you anywhere how to connect the hook up wires? I assume you slide them on and cut off part of the side of the track to get he wires through.

  1. My test run was very poor. Maybe it is dirty. What is the best way to clean it?

Thanks in advance.

For #1. Yes

#2 wipe down the rails with a clean cloth, you could dampen it with alcohol if desired. Also make sure the wheels and pick-up on the vehicle are clean and making contact with the rail.

I will try and then let you know.

I cleaned the track with a rag and denatured etoh. Much improved but still seems kind of choppy like it is still dirty.

Have you tried cleaning the wheels on your equipment to include the center roller wheels. Also the wire connectors might be loose at the track connection. I have found Lionel Fastrac connecter wires to be good to use to hook-up to the Super Streets straight sections. Don’t worry about hooking up power to the curve as the ones I have only have one terminal to hook up to.

To hook up to the track cut some of the plastic off by the metal strips underneath the track, there are two metal strips that go across the underside of the track, use a pair of needle nose pliers or an exacto knife to cut the plastic with.

Also a #4 phllips head wood screw(needs to have a counter sink head, not round across the top) from Wal-Mart or Home Depot will secure the track and leave enuff room to puit the minture manhole covers back on.
