…has anyone figured out how to post your ident photos on your profile page? I thought that was a great way of personalizing your posts on the OGR forum… Please teach us how you did it.

Hi Jim, I’m going to take a wild guess here. If you place the path and name of file on the profile page were it says pitcure URL. it just might work.
Didn’t work for me. Maybe it’s too big a picture.
To post any photos here, all you need is to have the photo up on the web. Then use the URL address of the image. To put your photo in your profile is a special case, and all you need is the URL. To place a photo in a posted reply, you need to use the [img] forum code along with your URL.
And if BB can teach ME, anyone can learn. And speaking of OGR, they are having a guest on there on March 17th??? for the Lionel Acela. Some pencil-pusher from Lionel.
OK, I’ll try to img thing. Let’s see: It’s Lionel Product Manager Todd Wagner and Associate Product Manager Dana Kawala talking about the Acela. Supposed to be like a ‘live press conference’ where the moderator ‘will be feeding the questions to Dana and Todd so that while one is answering a question “live on the air” the other can be preparing the answer to the next question.’
If there are any train women on this site, I will personally mail you my avatar, as I’m looking for a friend or a wife.
My website is:
http://davidvergun.tripod.com/
But it probably isn’t reliable enough to host my avatar.
It works! Thanks Tom!
Elliot, Bracketing IMG immediately before the web URL and bracketing /IMG immediately after the URL doesn’t seem to work for my stuff which is on the HPPhoto.com host. Just for the heck of it, paste this URL into a post and see if it will display for you…

Hi guys,
Sorry, no avatars. As I emailed Jim Duda off-line, the forum software isn’t set up for them. You may see an avatar check box on your user profile, but it is a remnant of a plan to use generic avatars (like a steam locomotive image) that was ultimately dropped. Software called “snitz” is used to create this and the other forums on trains.com and other Kalmbach Publishing Co. magazine websites. We’ve only been using it for about 8 months for CTT, so there are no changes planned for the foreseeable future.
Sincerely,
Neil Besougloff

Thank you, Sir…actually, just click on the posters name and his/her image will come up in the profile - if they have chosen to put one there. It just costs you one mouse click. I think we can live with that.

Not to be mean or anything… but I can do without the pics of train dudes in posts. [8D]
