How large is a HO circle in 22 degress? How much space between doble track is needed?

Do you really mean degrees?
If you meant 22 inch radiaus then 44 inches
If you meant 22 degrees… ???
Sorry!
I mean inches at a 22 degress circle. HO and N.

One key point. Curve radius is measured from the track centerline. A 22 inch (558mm) radius HO curve will fit on a standard 4’x8’ sheet of plywood with barely enough space to allow easements at both ends. To allow clearance for long cars and overhanging articulated boiler fronts the minimum clearance to a concentric curve would be 2 1/2" (64mm), which makes the curve inside the 22 incher 19.5 inch (495mm) radius. Short rolling stock, small steam locos and 4-axle diesels can handle that, but don’t route the Powhatan Arrow that way. A stiff-framed 4-8-4 with a long tender pulling proper scale-length cars would require an extra-long drawbar and coupling distance between coaches that would be more appropriate to cushion-frame freight cars.
For double track, allow minimum 2 1/2" between centers on curves and @’ between centers on straights. Don’t forget to use easements going into and out of curves.
When you hear talk of 18" or 22" curves, it always refers to radius. Double for diameter and leave room for at least 2" to the edges of the layout.
