Sleepy Former Railroad Junction at Lynn, Indiana

The tiny town of Lynn, Indiana is located a stone’s throw from the Ohio border. Here the Pennsylvania Railroad’s GR&I line from Mackinaw City, Michigan to Richmond, Indiana once crossed a Big Four branch that once connected Indianapolis and Springfield, Ohio. Both lines were torn up by the mid-1970’s, and the station is long gone. All that remains is the platform, some cross ties, and an NYC signal west of the junction in someone’s backyard.

This panned shot of the location from 1996 shows how sleepy it has become.
