Yes, mid-construction I’ve decided to make a few changes to simplify my layout. The whole odd part going around the alcove in the corner of the room room (see my old post on track plan, or on my web site - when I have the new oen worked out I will post it) is coming out. I did get the larger of the two bedrooms to use for a layout, but all my stuff has to fit in here. Including workbench. So, the alcove will become my work area. Only problem is lack of light, but between my desktop magnifier light, my big one (the lens is like 7" diameter) on flexible arms, and an otherwise unused pole light, I should be fine for light on the work surface.
The casualty of this is the staging yard I already finished, and the staging for the opposite direction. Instead I was going to just have staging for one direction. I am seeing about workign out a wye arrangement behind the curve that runs in front of the entrance to the alcove, that way I could still have staging in both directions. Operationally though it isn’t required - trains on this brnach were turns originating from Reading and returning when done. This is the end I can still easily have staging tracks. Current NS operation ties the train up in Chapman Yard - sort of visible staging. I drove by there the other night, but didn’t have my camera - there was a string of insualted box cars with a couple of Geeps on the front and a CABOOSE on the rear. Still in Conrail blue, it was a bay window type but all the windows were boarded up. Probably to allow a place for a flagman/rear brakeman to ride to flag the numerous crossings in the industrial parks while running in reverse, Anyway, I don’t really lose anything and I should be able to get things up and running quicker. And have a place for all my stuff.
Sorry Stein, it does do away with your suggestion of X Staging which was the last piece of the puzzle to get the existing plan finished. At least I won;t forget about it now - I do have the issue of MRP where it was introduced but it t
