I’m looking for a lionel .027 train crossing with Strombecker slot car set. Does anybody have any for sale or where I can find a crossing… Thanks DCarter
Phew! I’d say you’re going to be stuck searching Ebay for a start. Or you could do a search of the different Yahoo groups, there are several dedicated to slot cars. Maybe one of the slot guys would have a crossing they don’t use?

What’s a slot car?
C’mon,C’mon… They never really made a train crossing that crossed a lionel set of train tracks, now what a concept that must be, it’s something that sounds like a 16 year old would invent. The concept of trying to cross a slot car at 75 mph in front of a speeding lionel train is just too much to imagine. Give us some more information on this concept.— — ----and we can’t tell you what a slot car is–you’re too young and innocent.
Ya know, 40+ years in Lionel, interspersed with Half Zero and such, I saw lots of Half-Zero slot car crossings, but never, ever saw one for 3-rail 0.
And I thought hard.

The issue is you lose the strength of the rail.
I don’t the 027 would be able to do it.
031, maybe, if you whacked the grooves into the rail but left the web.
You need to stop the pickup strips far enough before that they don’t cross over electrically to the rails when they cross.

No such item exists. If you want one, you’ll have to get creative and make one yourself.
Tyco used to make a HO one but they had to recall them because the saftey people said it gave the kids the idea to race the train to the crossing. So even if they made a .027 one it may have been recalled to. I was working at a Toys R Us when we got the notice to pull all Road and Rail sets from tyco for this reason.
How stupid. We used to play with cap guns when I was a kid but never shot anyone with a real gun, except during a war I was in. My parents taught me better, but then to day is different.???
