SMART commuter train service to be extended to Sonoma County airport
Wonder if there will be weekend service and if the wine industry in Sonoma can partner to relieve the nightmare traffic from San Francisco on weekends.
SMART would be stupid if weekend service hasn’t been implemented. I know, traffic IS a nightmare.
I would hope that somehow they could find a way to pick up the pace on getting the section to Larkspur open. Otherwise ridership might be held down.
SMART will have weekend service. But I suspect that tourism will increase demand far beyond projections made in a decade ago when the system was in the planning stages.
The Charles Schultz Airport stands to greatly benefit from the light rail as opposed to flying at busy SFO, which really doesn’t have convenient connections across the Golden Gate.
