On an island in northern Michigan, Smith and Hull Lumber Co. existed. I spent a weekend backpacking there, and it’s really cool. There’s lots of old buildings and structures. However, I never made it to the northwest side, where the old grade lies. Nothing is left of Crescent City or the railroad except a barber shop, which has since fallen down. I talked to a guy around a campfire and he said he had hiked there previously and found an axle to what appeared to be a railroad car. All the track was removed.
