Smoke unit for Athearn UP FEF-3

I have an Athearn Union Pacific FEF-3 locomotive. I want to install smoke units. The manual says Seuthe smoke unit #9 and 10 are compatible. They are not currently available. Can anyone tell me if Seuthe smoke units #667-99 or 667-100 are compatible. Thank you.

No…go with what they recommend…expecially with something that creates lots of heat!

I believe your best bet for an answer, would be for you to contact them and ask or see if you can find out from the info on this site. Most people I know don’t care too much for the smoke units, they leave residue over everything I’ve heard from people who had them. Same answer for your other thread on same subject. They both are showing in stock at Walthers, other US on-line outlets, and are on E-Bay.

Cheers, the Bear.

Also, ask Sleuth as to the best heat range 9 or a 10. As I recall the 10 runs hotter and creates a greater smoke experience. These pots are expensive: Do not run them dry or leave them in the locomotive when not in use as they will burn out if left on by accident. Just one pot unit creates plenty of smoke- two pots may require a gas mask.
