Snap track

What is the best value, Bachmann or Lifelike snap track? I believe life like costs less, but is it worth it in the long run? Want to set up a Round-the-tree layout for my grandson. I’ve used the flex track for YEARS, but think the snap track would be better for this application…Thanks

Do you mean sectional track with the built-in roadbed?

“Snap Track” is Atlas’s trademark for their sectional track, but it doesn’t have the roadbed.

I’ve never used that kind of track myself, so I can’t comment on it.

Either brand, or Atlas should work fine for carpet running around the tree. Pickup a spare pack of rail joiners and some Goo Gone to clean the track. A little tape will hold the wires down and prevent them from fouling the train.

You’re asking about Bachmann EZ-Track and Life-Like Power-Loc track. Of the two the Bachmann track is the hands down winner. I’ve used both and the Power-Loc track was an absolute disaster, especially the turnouts. The Bachmann turnouts have their problems but they can be greatly minimized. The Life-Like turnouts are absolute junk. Now as to which one would I use? The track on my layout is all Bachmann nickel silver EZ-Track.

Snap track is Atlas’s trademarked name for its regular track without built in roadbed.

Atlas does make Nickel Silver{NS} True track which has a built in roadbed it is here:

Bachmann makes{steel track with black roadbed} and NS EZ Track with gray roadbed like here:

http://www.wholesaletrains.com/Detail.asp?ID=20012007

And LifeLike makes PowerLoc track with built in road bed which comes in both steel and NS track like here:.

You wnat to get the NS track whatever you get.

From what I have read, Bachmann EZ Track out performs LifeLike PowerLoc and little is know about teh Atlas with base, as most use Atlas without base if they use Atlas track.

Kato Unitack hands down.

However, you asked about Bachman and Model Power.

Price wise Kato,Atlas,Bachmann and Model Power is about the same price.

Why not go with Atlas or Kato track?
